REIKI & SHAMANIC HEALING

 Hi! My name is Seraphina.

I'm a shamanic practitioner trained through Sandra Ingerman's legacy under Karen Hutchins. I'm proud to be a third generation attuned Reiki Master honoring my father and his grandmother before him. I'm a deeply passionate and curious person which has led me to explore shamanic traditions in Native American tribes all across the United States, and workshops in Iceland on Old Norse Seiðr.

My lifeblood is to travel and nature is my deepest home. I was always that kid running around barefoot, hands full of feathers and skulls enough that it scared my grandma. After my young life I dealt with crippling anxiety, which over the years has taught me time and time again what value there is in being gentle. This led to a lot of inner child work, and is thus one of my most passionate avenues of healing.

Healing is freedom, and we all deserve to heal in whatever way we're called to.

My passion is helping people like me navigate their ways through the tricky trails of life, to find your freedom & abundance in whatever way is yours.

 WHY "VALKYRIC HEALING?"

My parents named me "Seraphina" after the seraphim angels, which to Christian religion is considered the highest order of angels - closest to god.

I always liked to think that was the Christian equivalent of the valkyries in Old Norse (viking) mythology. The valkyries were the winged women who came to take the fallen in battle to Valhalla.

I am a viking at heart, and the ways of the old norsemen along with Nordic animism is where I have always had an innate interest. It is what brought me to shamanism.

My recent solo voyage to Iceland confirmed this bond, and since I often find myself helping the fallen cross over peacefully, it felt poetically fitting. To die is honorable: it means you lived.

With the grace of a winged warrior and the fierceness of a valkyrie, it is how I find myself confidently weaving the spiritual into the physical. A valkyrie is strong and true - she is certain in her step, and so her healing is equally assured, gentle, and valkyric.

WHAT'S REIKI?

Reiki is an ancient healing technique revered and preserved by Tibetan monks 2,500 years ago, before being rediscovered in Japan. It is a form of energetic healing, designed to target the energetic frequencies of one's body: to heal with white light, ancient symbols, and place a focus on unblocking each chakra for a sense of cleansing, calm, and restoration. The foundations of Reiki are held within a holistic view of each individual and their healthy integration of mind, body, and spirit.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

I first speak to the recipient about my process and what can be expected to properly respect each individual client's boundaries. I'll ask what my client is comfortable or not comfortable with.

A Reiki healing session is done with the recipient laying down. The practitioner hovers their hands or places them lightly over the recipient's body, channeling the energetic flow within the body, aura, chakras and mind.

Each person (and session) experiences the healing differently. To some, it may feel extremely relaxing, to some it may bring a gentle peace. Some may experience visions or feelings throughout the process, and overall in my personal view, the whole experienced is best described as "warm".

In most cases, it provides a feeling of safety, and typically will leave the person feeling relaxed and tired - the tired is natural, the body seeks to rest after energy is released and healing is facilitated.

WHAT IS SHAMANIC HEALING?

Shamanic healing is a practice that dates back 10,000 years, spanning many cultures, beliefs and tribes. It is believed to be one of the most ancient forms of healing, connecting the body and mind through intuition, spiritual journeying, and ceremonies. It is most commonly heard of in Native American tribes these days, though it originated in Siberia & Mongolia. There are many different things shamanism has been called, and it exists in almost every culture in some way, even today.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

We work together to identify what healing you seek. This often starts with a conversation in a comfortable environment, and I'm then able to decipher what shamanic healing tradition may benefit you the best. This can include guided journeying, meeting with your spiritual or ancestral guides, soul retrievals and curse removals to name a few.

Each session begins with energetic cleansing and grounding, either by saging, rattling, or drumming to clear our energy so we may practice fully present.

After a moment to get comfortable and explain the process, I'll have my client assume the journey position: a comfortable position for meditation while following the beat of the drum. This can be lying down or seated, whichever feels most natural.

Once the drumming is complete, we'll discuss what you experienced, if anything. This can range widely: visions, feelings, inner knowings or physical sensations. I will provide my experience as well, so we may talk about the ways it applies uniquely to you. I'll follow up our session with an e-mail for you to keep a written memory - so you don't need to try and remember every message or experience.

IS THIS ONLY FOR CERTAIN BELIEF SYSTEMS?

Nope! It can be applied universally. Diversity in spiritual beliefs is very welcomed and encouraged. Differences in belief systems are what make this work so unique, because every message and ceremony is interpreted differently to each soul.

Typically, language will refer to the "higher-knowing" as Spirit, Source, Light Beings, or the Divine - available for you to interpret how it applies to you.

WHO WOULD BENEFIT FROM THIS?

Many people decide to seek shamanic healing for different reasons or occasions. Some see it as a "check-in" point for life transitions - to see how different pieces of your life fit together in the past, present and future.

Some people see it as a routine maintenance - almost as you would visit your local medicine tent in tribal days. Some have a moment that clicks, and they just know there's healing they seek from this modality.

The frequency can vary widely. As little or as much as is needed, whether that be one time visit, or regular visits - either way, you don't need to be in a specific state of mind to benefit from this kind of healing work.
